SAUDAÇÃO

Chegando ao altar e feita a devida reverência, beija-o em sinal de veneração e, se for oportuno, incensa-o. Em seguida, todos dirigem-se às cadeiras.

Terminado o canto de entrada, toda a assembleia, de pé, faz o sinal da cruz, enquanto o sacerdote diz: 

Pres: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  

Ass: Amen.

Pres:  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

O povo responde:

Ass: Blessed be God, who brought us together in Christ's love. 

ATO PENITENCIAL

 Segue-se o ato penitencial. O Sacerdote convida os fiés á penitência:

Pres: Brethren brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

 Independe do modo usado, após um momento de silêncio, usa-se a seguinte fórmula: 

Ass:  I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what (batendo no peito*) I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. 

Segue-se a absolvição sacerdotal:

May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.

Ass: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.  

ORAÇÃO DO DIA

Terminado o hino, de mãos unidas, o sacerdote diz:
Pres: Let us pray.

E todos oram em silêncio, por algum tempo.

Então o sacerdote abrindo os braços reza a oração;
O God, who teach us that you abide in hearts that are just and true, grant that we may be so fashioned by your grace as to become a dwelling pleasing to you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. 

Ass:  Amen.

PRIMEIRA LEITURA

O leitor dirige-se ao ambão para a primeira leitura, que todos ouvem sentados.
 (Após as leituras, é aconselhável um momento de silêncio para meditação)

L: Leitura do livro do Eclesiástico.
 Se quiseres guardar os mandamentos, e praticar sempre fielmente o que é agradável (a Deus), eles te guardarão.
Ele pôs diante de ti a água e o fogo: estende a mão para aquilo que desejares.
A vida e a morte, o bem e o mal estão diante do homem; o que ele escolher, isso lhe será dado, porque é grande a sabedoria de Deus. Forte e poderoso, ele vê sem cessar todos os homens.
Os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem, e ele conhece todo o comportamento dos homens.
Ele não deu ordem a ninguém para fazer o mal, e a ninguém deu licença para pecar;

SEGUNDA LEITURA 

L:  Leitura da primeira carta de são Paulo aos Coríntios.
Irmãos, entretanto, o que pregamos entre os perfeitos é uma sabedoria, porém não a sabedoria deste mundo nem a dos grandes deste mundo, que são, aos olhos daquela, desqualificados.
Pregamos a sabedoria de Deus, misteriosa e secreta, que Deus predeterminou antes de existir o tempo, para a nossa glória.
Sabedoria que nenhuma autoridade deste mundo conheceu (pois se a houvessem conhecido, não teriam crucificado o Senhor da glória).
É como está escrito: "Coisas que os olhos não viram, nem os ouvidos ouviram, nem o coração humano imaginou", tais são os bens que Deus tem preparado para aqueles que o amam.
Todavia, Deus no-las revelou pelo seu Espírito, porque o Espírito penetra tudo, mesmo as profundezas de Deus.

ACLAMAÇÃO AO EVANGELHO

Alleluia, alleluia.
Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth;
you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom.

Enquanto isso, o sacerdote, se usar incenso, coloca-o no turíbulo. O diácono que vai proclamar o Evangelho, inclinando-se diante do sacerdote, pede a bênção em voz baixa:
Diác: Your blessing, Father.
O sacerdote diz em voz baixa:
Pres: May the Lord be in your heart and on your lips, that you may proclaim his Gospel worthily and well, in the name of the Father and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. 
Diác: Amen. 

Se não houver diácono, o sacerdote, inclinado diante do altar, reza em silêncio;

Pres: Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your holy Gospel.

 EVANGELHO

 O diácono ou o sacerdote dirige-se ao ambão, acompanhado, se for oportuno, pelos ministros com o incenso e as velas, e diz:

Diác ou Sac: The Lord be with

Ass: And with your spirit. 

O diácono, ou o sacerdote, fazendo o sinal da cruz no livro e, depois, na fronte, na boca e no peito, diz:

Diác ou Sac: A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew

Ass: Glory to you, O Lord. 

Então o diácono ou o sacerdote, se for oportuno, incensa o livro e proclama o Evangelho.

Naquele tempo, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: "Não julgueis que vim abolir a lei ou os profetas. Não vim para os abolir, mas sim para levá-los à perfeição.
 Pois em verdade vos digo: passará o céu e a terra, antes que desapareça um jota, um traço da lei.
 Aquele que violar um destes mandamentos, por menor que seja, e ensinar assim aos homens, será declarado o menor no Reino dos céus. Mas aquele que os guardar e os ensinar será declarado grande no Reino dos céus.
 Digo-vos, pois, se vossa justiça não for maior que a dos escribas e fariseus, não entrareis no Reino dos céus.
 Ouvistes o que foi dito aos antigos: ‘Não matarás, mas quem matar será castigado pelo juízo do tribunal’.
 Mas eu vos digo: todo aquele que se irar contra seu irmão será castigado pelos juízes. Aquele que disser a seu irmão: ‘Raca’, será castigado pelo Grande Conselho. Aquele que lhe disser: ‘Louco’, será condenado ao fogo da geena.
 Se estás, portanto, para fazer a tua oferta diante do altar e te lembrares de que teu irmão tem alguma coisa contra ti,
 deixa lá a tua oferta diante do altar e vai primeiro reconciliar-te com teu irmão; só então vem fazer a tua oferta.
 Entra em acordo sem demora com o teu adversário, enquanto estás em caminho com ele, para que não suceda que te entregue ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao seu ministro e sejas posto em prisão.
 Em verdade te digo: dali não sairás antes de teres pago o último centavo.
 Ouvistes que foi dito aos antigos: ‘Não cometerás adultério’.
 Eu, porém, vos digo: todo aquele que lançar um olhar de cobiça para uma mulher, já adulterou com ela em seu coração.
 Se teu olho direito é para ti causa de queda, arranca-o e lança-o longe de ti, porque te é preferível perder-se um só dos teus membros, a que o teu corpo todo seja lançado na geena.
 E se tua mão direita é para ti causa de queda, corta-a e lança-a longe de ti, porque te é preferível perder-se um só dos teus membros, a que o teu corpo inteiro seja atirado na geena.
 Foi também dito: ‘Todo aquele que rejeitar sua mulher, dê-lhe carta de divórcio’.
 Eu, porém, vos digo: todo aquele que rejeita sua mulher, a faz tornar-se adúltera, a não ser que se trate de matrimônio falso; e todo aquele que desposa uma mulher rejeitada comete um adultério.
 Ouvistes ainda o que foi dito aos antigos: ‘Não jurarás falso, mas cumprirás para com o Senhor os teus juramentos’.
 Eu, porém, vos digo: não jureis de modo algum, nem pelo céu, porque é o trono de Deus;
 nem pela terra, porque é o escabelo de seus pés; nem por Jerusalém, porque é a cidade do grande Rei.
Nem jurarás pela tua cabeça, porque não podes fazer um cabelo tornar-se branco ou negro.
 Dizei somente: ‘Sim’, se é sim; ‘não’, se é não. Tudo o que passa além disto vem do Maligno.

Terminado o Evangelho, o diácono ou o sacerdote diz:
Diác ou Sac: The Gospel of the Lord. 

Ass:  Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

O sacerdote beija o livro, rezando em silêncio:

Through the words of the Gospel may our sins be wiped away.

HOMILIA

Nos domingos e festas de preceito, faça-se a homilia, também recomendável nos outros dias.

PROFISSÃO DE FÉ

Ass: I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

(Todos se inclinam)

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, 

(Todos erguem-se)

suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. 

 OFERTÓRIO

Inicia-se o canto do ofertório, enquanto os ministros colocam no altar o corporal, o sanguinho, o cálice e o missal.

Convém que os fiéis manifestem a sua participação, trazendo o pão e o vinho para a celebração da Eucarística, ou outros dons para o auxílio da comunidade e dos pobres.

O sacerdote, de pé, toma a patena com o pão e, elevando-a um pouco sobre o altar, reza em silêncio:

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life. 

Se não houver canto ao ofertório o povo acrescenta a aclamação:

Ass: Blessed be God for ever. 

Em seguida, coloca a patena com o pão sobre o corporal. O diácono ou o sacerdote derrama vinho e um pouco d´água no cálice, rezando em silêncio:

By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the divinity of Christ who humbled himself to share in our humanity. 

Em seguida, o sacerdote toma o cálice e, elevando-o um pouco sobre o altar, reza em silêncio:

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. 

Ass: Blessed be God for ever. 

Coloca o cálice sobre o corporal.

O sacerdote, inclinado, reza em silêncio:

With humble spirit and contrite heart may we be accepted by you, O Lord, and may our sacrifice in your sight this day be pleasing to you, Lord God

Se for oportuno, incensa as oferendas e o altar. Depois o diácono ou o ministro incensa o sacerdote e o povo.

O sacerdote, de pé, ao lado do altar, lava as mãos, dizendo em silêncio:

Wash me, O Lord, from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin

ORAÇÃO SOBRE AS OFERENDAS

No meio do altar e voltado para o povo, estendendo e unindo as mãos, o sacerdote diz:

Pres:  Pray, brethren brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. 

Ass: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy Church. 

Em seguida, abrindo os braços, o sacerdote reza a oração sobre as oferendas;

Pres:  May this oblation, O Lord, we pray, cleanse and renew us and may it become for those who do your will the source of eternal reward. Through Christ our Lord

Ass: Amen

PREFÁCIO COMUM VI

Começando a Oração Eucarística, o sacerdote abre os braços e diz:

Pres: The Lord be with you. 

Ass: And with your spirit. 

Erguendo as mãos, o sacerdote prossegue:

Pres: Lift up your hearts. 

Ass: We lift them up to the Lord. 

O sacerdote, com os braços abertos, acrescenta:

Pres: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. 

Ass: It is right and just. 

O sacerdote, de braços abertos, continua o prefácio.

It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks, Father most holy, through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, your Word through whom you made all things, whom you sent as our Saviour and Redeemer, incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin. Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people, he stretched out his hands as he endured his Passion, so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection. And so, with the Angels and all the Saints, we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim...

Ass: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. 

ORAÇÃO EUCARÍSTICA III

O sacerdote, de braços abertos, diz:

Pres: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, and all you have created rightly gives you praise, for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and you never cease to gather a people to yourself, so that from the rising of the sun to its setting a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name. 

Une as mãos e as estende sobre as oferendas, dizendo:

Pres: Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you: by the same Spirit graciously make holy these gifts we have brought to you for consecration,

Une as mãos e traça o sinal da cruz sobre o pão e o cálice ao mesmo tempo, dizendo:

that they may become the Body and + Blood of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, at whose command we celebrate these mysteries. 

Nas fórmulas que se seguem, as palavras do Senhor sejam proferidas de modo claro e audível, como requer a sua natureza.

Pres: For on the night he was betrayed 

toma o pão, mantendo-o um pouco elevado sobre o altar,inclina-se levemente, e prossegue:

he himself took bread, and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread and gave it to his disciples

Mostra ao povo a hóstia consagrada, coloca-a na patena, fazendo genuflexão para adorá-la.

Então prossegue:

In a similar way, when supper was ended, 

toma o cálice nas mãos, mantendo-o um pouco elevado sobre o altar, inclina-se levemente, e prossegue:

he took the chalice, and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing, and gave the chalice to his disciples.

Mostra o cálice ao povo, coloca-o sobre o corporal e faz genuflexão para adorá-lo.

Em seguida, diz:

The mystery of faith.

Ass: We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again. 

O sacerdote, de braços abertos, diz:

Pres: Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the saving Passion of your Son, his wondrous Resurrection and Ascension into heaven, and as we look forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice.

Pres: Look, we pray, upon the oblation of your Church and, recognizing the sacrificial Victim by whose death you willed to reconcile us to yourself, grant that we, who are nourished by the Body and Blood of your Son and filled with his Holy Spirit, may become one body, one spirit in Christ. 

1C: May he make of us an eternal offering to you, so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect, especially with the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs  (with Saint N. o santo do dia ou patrono) and with all the Saints, on whose constant intercession in your presence we rely for unfailing help. 

2C: May this Sacrifice of our reconciliation, we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and salvation of all the world.Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity your pilgrim Church on earth, with your servant Paul our Pope and N. our Bishop,* the Order of Bishops, all the clergy, and the entire people you have gained for your own.  

*Aqui pode-se fazer a menção dos Bispos Coadjutores ou Auxiliares

2C: Listen graciously to the prayers of this family, whom you have summoned before you: in your compassion, O merciful Father, gather to yourself all your children scattered throughout the world.

Une as mãos

through Christ our Lord, through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.  

Ergue o cálice e a patena com a hóstia, dizendo:

Pres: O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, for ever and ever.

 Ass: Amen.

ORAÇÃO DO SENHOR

Tendo colocado o cálice e a patena sobre o altar, o sacerdote diz unindo as mãos:

Pres: At the Saviour’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say: 

O sacerdote abre os braços e prossegue com o povo:

Ass: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

O sacerdote prossegue sozinho, de braços abertos:

Pres: Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.  

O sacerdote une as mãos. O povo conclui a oração aclamando:

Ass: For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever.  

O sacerdote, de braços abertos, diz em voz alta:

Pres:  Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you; look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will.

O sacerdote une as mãos e conclui:

Who live and reign for ever and ever. 

O povo responde:

Ass: Amen.

O sacerdote, estendendo e unindo as mãos, acrescenta:

Pres: The peace of the Lord be with you always. 

O povo responde:

Ass: And with your spirit. 

SAUDAÇÃO DA PAZ

Em seguida, se for oportuno, o diácono ou o sacerdote acrescenta estas palavras ou outras semelhantes:
Diác: Let us offer each other the sign of peace. 

E todos, segundo o costume do lugar, manifestam uns aos outros a paz e a caridade; o sacerdote saúda o diácono ou o ministro.

FRAÇÃO DO PÃO

Em seguida, o sacerdote parte o pão consagrado sobre a patena e coloca um pedaço no cálice, rezando em silêncio:

Pres: May this mingling of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ bring eternal life to us who receive it.

Enquanto isso, canta-se ou recita-se:

Ass: have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Essas palavras podem ser repetidas várias vezes, se a fração do pão se prolonga. Contudo, na última vez se diz: grant us peace

O sacerdote, de mãos unidas, reza em silêncio:

Pres: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who, by the will of the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit, through your Death gave life to the world, free me by this, your most holy Body and Blood, from all my sins and from every evil; keep me always faithful to your commandments, and never let me be parted from you.  

O sacerdote faz genuflexão, toma a hóstia, elevando-a sobre a patena, diz em voz alta, voltado para o povo:

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. 

E acrescenta, com o povo, uma só vez:

Ass: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. 

COMUNHÃO

Enquanto o sacerdote comunga do Corpo de Cristo, inicia-se o canto da comunhão.

O sacerdote, voltado para o altar, reza em silêncio:

May the Body of Christ keep me safe for eternal life. 

Comunga o Corpo de Cristo.

Depois, segura o cálice e reza em silêncio:

May the Blood of Christ keep me safe for eternal life. 

Comunga o Sangue de Cristo.

Toma a patena ou o cibório e, mostrando a hóstia um pouco elevada aos que vão comungar e diz a cada um:

The Body of Christ.

O que vai comungar responde:

Amen. 

O diácono, ao distribuir a sagrada comunhão, procede do mesmo modo.

Terminada a comunhão, o sacerdote, o diácono ou acólito purifica a patena e o cálice.

Enquanto se faz a purificação, o sacerdote reza em silêncio:

What has passed our lips as food, O Lord, may we possess in purity of heart, that what has been given to us in time may be our healing for eternity.

ORAÇÃO DEPOIS DA COMUNHÃO

55. De pé, junto à cadeira ou ao altar, o sacerdote diz:

Pres: Let us pray. 

E todos, com o sacerdote, rezam algum tempo de silêncio, se ainda não o fizeram. Em seguida o sacerdote abrindo os braços diz a oração:

Having fed upon these heavenly delights, we pray, O Lord, so that we may always long for that food by which we truly live. Through Christ our Lord

O povo aclama:

Ass: Amen. 

Se for necessário, façam-se breves comunicações ao povo.

BENÇÃO FINAL

O sacerdote abrindo os braços, saúda o povo:

Pres: The Lord be with you.

O povo responde:

Ass: And with your spirit. 

Pres: Blessed be the name of the Lord. 

Ass: Now and for ever. 

Pres: Our help is in the name of the Lord. 

Ass: Who made heaven and earth. 

O sacerdote abençoa o povo, dizendo:

Pres: May almighty God bless you, the Father, + and the Son, + and the Holy + Spirit.  

Ass: Amém.

À despedida, o diácono, ou o próprio sacerdote diz unindo as mãos:

Go forth, the Mass is ended

O povo responde:

Ass: Thanks be to God.
